We ran across this schema in the wild recently on rehabs.com, one of the most popular and successful directories on the web. This is a “collection of local businesses” that spans almost 4000 lines of code. It also includes the @ website type.
This schema could be utilized in a number of industries, really anything with a collection including a collection of eCommerce products. You can read a bit more about the collection type on schema.org. Google has some handy information on their developer site on local business as well, or a few examples on our site as well.
